The Heart Behind Like Family
May Ann Oro, LPN
Owner & Founder
May Ann Oro is the owner of LIKE FAMILY Home Care Services, a company built on the belief that every individual deserves to be cared for with the same love, dignity, and compassion as a member of one's own family.
Born and raised in the Philippines, May Ann grew up embracing the Filipino value of Malasakit — a way of life rooted in compassion, empathy, respect, patience, and selfless service. Raised in a culture where family comes first and elders are deeply honored, she developed a lifelong passion for caring for others.
After moving to the United States, May Ann dedicated her career to healthcare, discovering her true calling in serving older adults. Before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), she spent many years working as a Medical Assistant in retirement communities and healthcare settings, building meaningful relationships with seniors and their families.
Inspired by her professional experience and the values she learned growing up, May Ann founded LIKE FAMILY Home Care Services to provide personalized, non-medical home care that helps individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.
Today, May Ann leads LIKE FAMILY Home Care Services with a commitment to excellence, professionalism, and the spirit of Malasakit — ensuring every client is treated just Like Family.
